Miami, Florida – Tuesday, September 12, 2006 – Acertant Technologies announced today that the first public beta of Versomatic™ for Mac OS X is now available for immediate download from its website at www.acertant.com.
Versomatic is a powerful extension to the Mac OS X operating system that catalogs and archives all file changes automatically in real-time. It then allows users to go back in time and view or restore any earlier version of a file instantly. Versomatic can even recover previously deleted files regardless of when they were deleted (unlike traditional undelete utilities that only work well soon after the deletion takes place).
Versomatic's interface is a model of simplicity and is tightly woven into the operating system. Retrieving earlier versions is as simple as right-clicking (or control clicking) on a selected file to reveal a menu listing of the file’s entire revision history. Then just click on a date and time to view or export a local copy of the archived revision. No restore scripts, complicated searches or separate applications are required.
As a system extension Versomatic supports all types of files and not just word processing documents. Accountants, designers, marketers and engineers can now benefit as much as writers, journalists and attorneys from the safety of document version control protection.
