TuneRanger FAQ

Q: I have SyncWrangler, should I buy TuneRanger instead?

A: Yes. Even though TuneRanger's main focus is synchronizing iTunes libraries on multiple computers over a network, it includes all of SyncWrangler's iPod sync technology and is a much better deal.

Q: Can SyncWrangler synchronize the iPhone or iPod Touch?

A: No. These devices do not support Disk Mode so they are not supported.

Q: When I try to activate my copy of SyncWrangler I get a message that says, "Cannot activate, please connect to internet and try again." What can I do?

A: This happened with some dialup connections (modem, some DSL or ISDN) when using builds 87 or earlier. The solution is to download and install SyncWrangler for Windows build 97 or greater. Click here to download the latest SyncWrangler for Windows release.

Q: Does Versomatic support Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard?

A: No. Versomatic was designed to work with Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger. Leopard includes TimeMachine for free so there are no plans to port Versomatic to Leopard at this time.

Q: I backup my computer frequently. Do I still need Versomatic?

A: Unlike traditional backup software Versomatic archives all changes to your files as they happen in real-time. It is not limited to backup schedules! Every time you change and save a document within any application, Versomatic archives all previous versions for you automatically in the background without you even noticing.

Q: When I try to activate my copy of Versomatic I get a message that says, "Cannot activate, please connect to internet and try again." What can I do?

A: This has been reported with some dial-up connections (modem, DSL or ISDN) when using builds 267 or earlier. The solution is to download and install Versomatic for Windows build 277 or greater. It is important that you remove the last release, restart, then install the new build and restart again.

Q: Does Versomatic support Windows Vista?

A: Yes, Versomatic works on all flavors of Vista (32-bit versions only).

Q: Is TuneRanger compatible Snow Leopard?

A: YES! TuneRanger builds 278 and later are compatible with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.

Q: I bought from a reseller. Can I use the updates from this website?

A: YES! TuneRanger builds 278 and later are compatible with all licenses.

Q: After updating iTunes, TuneRanger reports "There was a problem communicating with iTunes..." How do I fix this?

A: Some Windows iTunes updates are no longer able to communicate (COM) with other applications. To fix this, uninstall iTunes 8 completely first. Then download the iTunes installer from www.apple.com and reinstall iTunes 8. More...
